The Elementary and Secondary Education Act, of 1965 and its revisions, has developed pools of funding that school districts can utilize in order to develop and support learning for students. These monies are called Title I. Title I, Part A, requires that each Title I school hold an annual meeting for the parents and families whose children receive Title I services in order to:
• Inform you of the school’s participation in Title I, Part A
• Explain the requirements of Title I, Part A
• Explain your rights and opportunities as parents and families to be involved in your child’s learning and achievement
In lieu of the annual face-to-face meeting this article was developed, during the COVID-19 pandemic, to address all the above requirements without assembling multiple families together.
