Applications are available on the district website and in the athletic office.

Applicants with fewer than 60 college credit hours may be considered.


Following opening of bids at the August 8 meeting of the Board of Education, Bales Construction Co, Inc. was awarded the bid for construction of the bus barn pending a change in planning and zoning. Relocation of the bus barn will allow for future expansion of the elementary cafeteria to push back the first lunch shift from 10 AM to 11 AM and adjust the parent transportation line further west in the current bus parking area.


Mrs. Melton applied for and received another grant through Walmart for supplies for her classes! Way to go, Mrs. Melton!


Today is the first day of high school fall sports practices. We wish our Wildcats the best this season!
A few updates and reminders:
Cross Country has moved their practice tomorrow to 8:00-9:30.
JUnior high will begin next week. JH cross country will begin Monday. August 15 in the FEMA from 3:15-4:30. JH volleyball will begin Wednesday, August 17 in the FEMA at 3:30.

The golf tournament supporting our baseball, basketball, and golf programs is Saturday, August 20.

Mrs. Green says, "Parents/Guardians: Licking R-8 School District has received the Individual Student Reports (ISRs) for MAP testing. The reports will be distributed with 1st quarter grade cards at our Parent/Teacher conferences October 25 and 27, 2022."


Licking R-VIII School District is looking for substitute cafeteria cooks for the 2022-2023 school year. Mrs Link says, “Come watch our high school music students perform at a St. Louis Cardinals game on September 7th! Licking Band and Choir students will also be selling tickets when school starts. Tickets are only $20 a piece. Get them while they last!”

The boys basketball team is getting ready to eat some Cracker Barrel after playing 6 games at a team camp in Branson today.




Various news and social media outlets are reporting that MSHSAA is now mandating band students are required to have a completed physical on file for participation. This only applies to students who participate in a school’s marching band, and therefore does NOT apply to Licking students.
