Licking R-VIII School District has been alerted of a nation-wide warning via TikTok videos that school shootings may occur on December 17 across the country. We do NOT have any evidence nor heard of a local or Texas County threat. Out of an abundance of caution, Licking administration is working with local and county law enforcement to take precautionary steps of a preventative nature. To repeat, there is currently no evidence nor suspicion of an immediate threat to the school district. We are taking precautionary steps as a proactive approach. If you have any information or are aware of any suspicious activity related to the school district, please reach out and report immediately. Please speak with your children regarding the seriousness of making threats of this nature and the disciplinary consequences if these threats are made.
